Have you ever prayed about something so many times that eventually you started wondering:

Am I praying wrong? Not because you don’t believe in God. Not because you don’t have faith. But because you’ve prayed, waited, cried, prayed some more — and nothing seems to be moving. (Although I do believe God answers every prayer and sometimes the answer is no or not yet)

That is what caught my attention when I came across a Christian digital program called Heaven’s Code.

I’m always interested in anything that makes me dig deeper into my relationship with God. But I’m also not someone who is going to hear the words secret prayer method and immediately hand over my credit card.

Because if somebody is telling me there is some biblical “secret” I’ve been missing, my first question is pretty simple:

Okay. Where is it in the Bible?

So I started looking into Heaven’s Code.

And here’s what I found.

So, What Is Heaven’s Code?

Heaven’s Code is a digital Christian prayer program that teaches a structured way of approaching prayer based on patterns its creators say can be found throughout Scripture.

The program focuses heavily on the way we approach God, whether our prayers line up with His will, and what it looks like to pray from faith instead of fear, panic or desperation.

And that part interests me.

Because I think a lot of us have been there. Something goes wrong and suddenly our prayer life sounds like: God, please fix this. Please fix this. Please fix this. Help! I’ve done it. Probably most Christians have.

There’s nothing wrong with crying out to God when life falls apart. Scripture is full of that.

But there is a difference between bringing our fear to God and allowing fear to become the entire foundation of our relationship with Him.

That’s where some of what Heaven’s Code teaches becomes interesting.

The Three-Part Prayer Method

The program breaks its prayer method into three main areas.

1. Divine Approach

The first is about how we approach God.

Are we approaching Him terrified, begging Him to notice us?

Or are we approaching Him knowing who He is — and knowing who we are in Him?

Hebrews 4:16 says: “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace…”

That verse matters. Boldly does not mean arrogantly or that God is to be used as a genie. It is having enough faith in Him that you are confident.

It means we have access to Him. We can come to Him. We can talk to Him. We don’t have to earn our way into the room first. So many times I see Christian’s say that they are too far from God to turn back and do not be mistaken; as long as you have breath in your lungs you are never too far gone for God.

2. Sacred Alignment

The second part is about bringing our prayers into alignment with God’s will.

And this is where I think Christians have to be careful with any teaching about getting prayers answered.

Prayer is not: I said the right words, so now God has to give me what I asked for. Jesus Himself prayed, “Nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” — Luke 22:42

That may be one of the most important lessons about prayer there is.

I always know exactly what I want God to do. That doesn’t automatically mean that is going to happen.

Sometimes He changes the situation or the timing, but we are confused on the wait. Sometimes He closes the door or opens another one. And sometimes the thing He changes is the people around me or myself. That doesn’t make prayer powerless. It means prayer is about relationship with God — and submitting to Him. Change hurts at times. Being taken through the fire hurts. But God chastises those He loves. The pruning season isn’t easy. But it’s necessary. And more times than not, you will be grateful for the growth on the otherside. We must remember that God’s ways are higher than our ways. We might not understand it right away, but one day we will.

3. Faith Declaration

The third part focuses on praying from faith rather than constantly praying from fear and doubt. When we come to God and are truly saved, we must know we walk from a place of victory.

I actually think there is something worth thinking about here. There’s a difference between, “God, I don’t even know if You hear me.” and, “God, I don’t understand what is happening, but I trust that You hear me.”

Faith doesn’t mean I know exactly how the story ends. It means I know Who is holding the story. And I trust that God takes my steps before me.

That is very different.

What Do You Actually Get?

According to the Heaven’s Code sales page, the program includes digital teachings and prayer resources designed to help you put the method into practice.

It includes things like Biblical prayer teaching, a short morning prayer prompt, a structured faith-based prayer method, prayer templates for different areas, and guidance around certain subjects.

The program is currently advertised at $37, although the sales page may show promotional discounts or coupons.

And I want to make something very clear here:

You do not need to spend $37 to talk to God. But if you didn’t know where to begin or how to begin, I could see it being very beneficial.

You don’t need a course. You don’t need a special teacher. You don’t need secret words. You have access to God through Jesus Christ. Period.

What you are paying for with something like Heaven’s Code is the structure — somebody has taken a subject, organized it and created a system you can follow.

Some people love that. Some people don’t need it. Both are okay.

Now Let’s Talk About the Part That Made Me Raise an Eyebrow

The Heaven’s Code sales page uses some pretty strong marketing.

There are stories involving financial struggles, jobs, relationships, healing, breakthroughs and dramatic changes after people changed the way they prayed.

Those stories are going to get people’s attention.

They got mine.

But I would never tell you:

Buy this prayer program and God is going to fix your finances, marriage, health, or anything else. That is where we must use discernment.

Some of the strongest believers in the Bible went through tremendous suffering.

Paul prayed for his thorn in the flesh to be removed. God did not remove it. Instead, He told him, “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9

Jesus prayed in Gethsemane before going to the cross.

The apostles were persecuted.

Faithfulness does not mean life suddenly becomes painless.

And I don’t want anyone believing that an unanswered prayer means:

You didn’t have enough faith, didn’t pray correctly, or didn’t discover the right method.

That can put an enormous amount of guilt on somebody who may already be hurting. I don’t believe that is what prayer is supposed to become.

Is There Really a Secret Prayer Code?

This is probably where my opinion differs a little from the marketing.

I don’t believe prayer itself is some hidden secret. Jesus literally taught His disciples how to pray. We have the Lord’s Prayer. We have the Psalms. We have Hannah praying. David, Daniel, and Jesus. The Bible gives us prayer all over the place.

So maybe what we’ve forgotten isn’t a secret. Maybe we’ve forgotten to slow down and actually look at what Scripture has been showing us all along. Because life gets loud and we are more distracted than ever regarding family, work, bills, and everything in between. We are overworked and underpayed, and sometimes prayer turns into an emergency hotline.

Then life gets better and suddenly we aren’t talking to Him nearly as much.

If a program gets someone back into Scripture, thinking about prayer, examining their relationship with God and becoming intentional about spending time with Him?

I can see value in that. But the power isn’t in Heaven’s Code.

The power is God’s. What Heaven’s Code does is give you structure and a detailed lay of how to pray and gives supporting evidence of stories from scripture. And, I will be the first to say that many believers today do not use prayer enough. As a matter of fact I had seen a testimony years ago about a husband sick in a hospital bed and the wife was there praying and God told her to worship- I mean singing out loud type of praise and worship! And she listened to the Holy Spirit and God did bring her husband out of the sickness. That is just one testimony and I do believe if we structure our faith like that and praise Him in the high and low times that we can see breakthrough, but it is not a guarantee.

Who Might Actually Like This Program?

I think Heaven’s Code could be interesting for someone who:

  • Feels stuck in their prayer life
  • Doesn’t know what to say when they pray
  • Feels like they’re repeating the same prayers every day
  • Wants a little more structure
  • Wants to study biblical prayer more intentionally
  • Finds themselves praying mostly from fear or anxiety
  • Only prays when they are down in life instead of daily
  • Wants to develop a daily prayer habit
  • Is new to Christianity
  • Has known God for years but feels spiritually disconnected
  • Needs to increase their strength byway of prayer, worship, and warring in the spirit-and especially to remember we need to be praying every day, not just when we need something.

Sometimes having a framework helps.

Especially if you’re the kind of person who buys a devotional because staring at a blank Bible page thinking “Okay…where do I start?” isn’t working.

There is nothing wrong with using tools that help you grow.

What I Actually Like About the Idea

Whether you buy Heaven’s Code or never touch it, it brought up some questions I think are worth asking.

How am I talking to God? Am I only praying when I need something?

Am I praying because I trust Him — or because I’m terrified of what happens if He doesn’t do what I’m asking?

Am I asking God to bless the plans I’ve already made?

Or am I actually asking Him what His plan is?

Do I spend time listening? Do I spend time thanking Him? Do I worship Him when nothing is wrong? Do I trust Him when I don’t get the answer I wanted?

Prayer is relationship. It is talking. And the hardest part as I have struggled with it myself is being still and listening. Crying. Worshiping. Asking. Thanking. Surrendering. Sometimes not knowing what is coming next, but being rest assured that God’s got you in the palm of His hand.

Would I Look Into Heaven’s Code?

Yes.

That’s why I’m writing about it.

There are parts of the teaching that genuinely interest me, especially the idea of examining how Scripture teaches us to approach God rather than simply repeating whatever prayer habits we’ve picked up over the years.

But I would approach Heaven’s Code exactly the way I approach any Christian teacher, book, sermon, course or program:

Bible open. Discernment on.

If something lines up with Scripture, learn from it.

If something doesn’t sit right, investigate it.

If somebody makes a promise that sounds bigger than what Scripture actually promises, question it.

And never hand another human being so much spiritual authority that you stop checking what they’re teaching for yourself.

Acts 17:11 praises the Bereans because they searched the Scriptures daily to see whether what they were being taught was true.

I think that’s still pretty solid advice.

Want to Look at Heaven’s Code for Yourself?

If this sounds like something that could help you become more intentional about prayer, you can look through Heaven’s Code and decide for yourself whether it’s right for you.
